Global Health Program

Our Global Health Programs in Nicaragua stem from a collaboration between Recurso, the University of Miami and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. We offer both research and clinical rotations at the Pre-clinical and Clinical Level. Through service and educational programs we contribute to personal and professional growth and the establishment of sustainable development by aiming to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. These goals are:

Goal 1: Eradicate Extreme Hunger and Poverty
Goal 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education
Goal 3: Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
Goal 4: Reduce Child Mortality
Goal 5: Improve Maternal Health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases
Goal 7: Ensure Environmental Sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a Global Partnership for Development

Duration: One week and longer research/clinical rotations involving individual/groups are available throughout the year. One week programs are generally offered during Spring Break.

Students can arrange to receive academic credit at their university with an opportunity to participate in Global Health Conference(s). We work with students to develop and carry out any project of their interest according to their level of training and program in which they participate.
