Multicultural Night

To continue with our mission we raised funds to furnish uniforms, the building of a primary school, and scholastic material for one year for 25 Ugandan children in the village of Ongutoi through our “Multicultural Night”, a wide-school event on November 13, 2008, at Columbia University. This event was not only socially and culturally stimulating but also educated faculty and students on the diverse background of its students and the richness of culture that many students at School of Public and International Affairs and on campus possess.

The event was extremely successful, gathering more than 350 attendees. Opening remarks were made by the Honorable Consul of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Trie Edi Mulyani, followed by salsa, debke, belly-dancing, tango performances, a variety of food dishes and videos prepared by the student body.
